Apparently, ERIC KRIPKE (of the 'Supernatural' series) will be doing the TV adaptation of 'The Sandman' comics. I've always had an instinctive feeling that he's credible enough to receive the honor of paying homage to Neil Gaiman's genius creation. And well, Kripke is pretty awesome, really. I will hope for the best.

Paul-sempai doesn't seem to be as thrilled as me about the collaboration of these creative minds. Which sucks since I hate the fact that we're divided on this matter. Apparently, I like both Supernatural and The Sandman series a lot (although not in equal forms), but he doesn't appreciate SPN at all. Oh well, we all have different tastes but I just like him so much I wish we share the same interests all the damn time. That's how much I value his opinion in everything now.
Oh great I am: ecstaticecstatic

OH MY FUCKING GAWD, it's been so long since we chatted!

AND YEAH, RIGHT?! My mentor Paul (who introduced me to The Sandman comics) was the only one who wasn't thrilled. He didn't llike Supernatural, apparently, which is surprising since there are elements between SPN and Sandman that are comparable. I think he didn't give that saiid TV series a chance, I bet. Because at first I didn't either because I felt it was overhyped and the rabid fans of its fandom turned me off a bit...but boy was I damn wrong!!! Kripke created a very consistent storyline. Am a total Cas girl, btw!

How do you know about The Sandman?

I know about Sandman because I adore Neil Gaiman. Like, I hear his name and I stalk shamelessly. Sandman is just beautifully written, fantastically drawn, and so insanely engaging. And I definitely see a correlation in certain elements between it and Supernatural, so Kripke to me is a fantastic choice.

My only concern at this point is that WarnerBros bought the rights to it. Does this mean it's gonna be on the CW -- a station notorious for really drippy teen dramas? *cringes*

When Neil Gaiman visited the Philippines, Paul my mentor was able to write a piece on him in our school's feature magazine three years ago. It was awesome and that is why Paul is really, really into Neil Gaiman and all his works---which is why he is quite worried of how an adaptation of The Sandman in real life would be like. I sympathize with that. But I hope he could give Kripke a chance on this venture.

LAWL. I love One Tree Hill but I can see your point-of-view. I am actually hoping it would be an HBO or Showtime thing. Kripke plus The Sandman plus either HBO or Showtime would be a trinity of awesomeness for me <3

I actually raved about The Sandman in this post, because I can't control myself. I LOVE IT! I'm so happy we both share a passion for it!
